Preparing For Leadership
“You can map out a fight plan or a life plan, but when the action starts, it may not go the way you planned, and you’re down to your reflexes- that means your preparation. That’s where your roadwork shows. If you cheated on that in the dark of the morning, well, you’re going to get found out now, under the bright lights of the ring.”
Leadership is hard. Real leadership requires you to take on the hardest assignment not delegate them to someone else. In order to knock down your toughest opponent, you will need to have a fight plan but, as Joe Frazier says, ‘it may not go the way you planned.’ When leading doesn’t go to way you planned, you will need to lean on your preparation. It is important to train so that we will be prepared when life and leadership doesn’t go as planned.
