Porn
If I could change one thing about our culture that would produce significant change within our culture, it would be to supply every family with a Jesus-loving and Jesus-following father.
If I could eliminate one thing that has crippled men from becoming Jesus-loving and Jesus-following fathers, it would be sexual immorality, specifically pornography. Tim Challies tackles this topic in his book Run to Win, because he knows what we all know: a lack of control over sexual appetites is soul killing for men.
This week we will be addressing this challenging topic in our time together. Below are some resources you can benefit from and send to other men in our fight against a culture immersed in sexual imagery and temptation. It’s a truly massive problem:
“68% of church-going men and over 50% of pastors view porn on a regular basis. Of young Christian adults 18-24 years old, 76% actively search for porn. 55% of married men and 25% of married women say they watch porn at least once a month. 57% of pastors say porn addiction is the most damaging issue in their congregation.”
If we are going to “Run to Win,” we need to have success in this critical area of our lives.
